About Papillon:

The breed is known also under the name 'continental toy spaniel' and is described as a little butterfly dog.

It, however, is said as an original native country the French linguistic area (France, Belgium) because of her preservation and development mostly these dogs spread possibly already since the 13th to 14th century from Italy.

Already the old masters like Tizian still painted dogs which can be regarded as progenitors with hanging ears, though.

You distinguish therefore also into the varieties 'Phalene' (hanging ears) and 'Papillon' (standing ears).

The "butterfly" under the toy dogs notices by his gigantic standing ears. They are taller than the head respectively and give him a funny appearance. The catch is smaller and as the rest of the dog quite daintily against this.

The adult Papillon corresponds fully to the baby look and one simply must find him cute. The colour is usually white with brown or black disks, often also tricolour. The blaze is but not standard but very desired in the face because she strengthens the impression to have a butterfly in front of himself visually.

The hair is silkily smooth. Papillons have none or only some sub-wool, their hair take for thus hardly dirt and are regular care for brushes well. Foreseen by this Papillons are often vain a little too and most representatives of this breed pay attention to cleanness.

A Papillon is permanent in movement like a butterfly. He is attentive, happy, kind and faithful. Although small and dainty elegant, Papillons are quite robustly and not too also sensitive anyway.

Papillons are very sociable dogs. next to her human reference persons they also like the society for other animals for particularly dogs. Several Papillons in the open at the game actually leave the impression of butterflies fluttering over the meadows. Who watch this once could know that this breed if possible shouldn't be held as a singles dog.
